Daily Log - October 9, 2025

When I got to the charts there was a big downtrend going, but soon after the channel broke and formed a steep uptrend. The bigger downtrend could already be drawn with a break and a new low on both the 2K and 10K charts, so when a very nice local 2EL formed just at the EMA, I took it.

The steep uptrend still needed a new high, and the signal bar looked great. The trade pulled back quite a lot twice, and I debated adjusting my original 8-tick target down to 6 since ATR was low, but I managed to fight the urge and kept the target just shy of the new high. One concern was the larger downtrend possibly making a new low, and it eventually did make a strong attempt after the new high. Pretty much perfect price action in my opinion.

After my trade, the market started to range—first a bigger one that was part of the two-legged correction for the larger downtrend, then it went into an even smaller range. I didn’t see much more to take on the 2K chart, but I did take a few trades on the Tradify evals using the 5-minute chart. I’m trying to execute some trades that could resemble Al Brooks-style setups, but I still have a long way to go there. I really have no clue what I’m doing yet—more study needed for sure.
