Note:

A difficult day.

After the long weekend, I was eager to get back on the charts and fully committed to taking the first quality setup that appeared. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a tough day to read overall.

The session started with what looked like a trading range holding within the overnight high and low. Eventually, price broke below the overnight low, and a downtrend seemed to emerge. It looked promising for a while, but then some tariff-related news hit, which distorted the price action.

From that point on, it became very difficult to trust anything. Was it just an overshoot, or were we dealing with a two-tiered downtrend? Had we seen a valid break of the broader downtrend or not? The context became messy and unclear, and that made me second-guess any potential setups.

That said, there really weren’t many clear entry signals either way. Hoping for a more structured and tradable day tomorrow.

Biggest Lesson:

Even when you’re eager to trade after a break, the market doesn’t always give you something worth taking. Forcing trades on confusing or distorted price action only leads to trouble. Sometimes, staying patient and protecting your capital is the best decision you can make.
