Daily Log - July 17, 2025

The entire day has been one long, painfully slow grinding trend to the upside. The uptrend started off weak, with price chopping above and below the 21 EMA, making it hard to define any clear direction. As the session progressed, the uptrend began to firm up slightly—price started pulling away from the EMA, with fewer touches—but it still offered very few clean pullback opportunities to get on board.

It was definitely one of those frustrating days where the market moves higher without you, and you're stuck waiting for setups that never quite materialize. But giving in to that frustration and jumping in without a proper setup never ends well. Following the rules, even on days like this, is what keeps me consistent over the long run.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get to trade the last part of the session. My internet suddenly went down, and with it, my live stream stopped too. I tried to get things back up and running but had no success. Since the weather was absolutely beautiful—nearly 30 degrees here in Oslo—I decided to shut everything down and head out for a few beers at the local pub instead. Honestly, not a bad way to wrap up a frustrating trading day. 🍻
