Note:
Market was range-bound most of the session. There was a decent downtrend in the overnight and early morning, but I missed that—and looking back, it didn’t offer much I wanted anyway. During RTH, a double trap set up that I found interesting, but hesitation and fear kicked in and I let it go.
Missed this double trap: I tried to take it on my second chart but was too slow. When price pulled back and offered a better fill, I started overthinking and waited for it to get back to where it triggered — big mistake. I should’ve just placed the limit order and been done with it. Next time: place the order and no more monkeying with it.
After that, the market kept chopping for the rest of the session—likely the long weekend effect.
Biggest Lesson:
When the trade is valid and the plan is to enter, don’t let small pullbacks put me off. Place the order and leave it.
