Note:
The day once again started as a trading range. Volume was very low and price was painfully slow for the 4th day in a row. I can go a few days without trades, but when it’s 1 tick up/1 tick down and a 2K bar takes 3–5 minutes to print, it’s hard on the psyche.
There was a slight bullish imbalance and a very weak uptrend formed; it eventually played out. There was a nice 2ES, but it was too far from the EMA for me, and the STDT hadn’t played out yet, so I passed.
After the uptrend made a new high, it kept crawling higher. I drew a secondary spike-and-channel and was hoping it would come into play.
The spike-and-channel proved not valid and price reversed on a dime. It slipped back toward the prior range—no clean entries I trusted, so I stayed flat.
Biggest Lesson:
Slow, choppy, trade-less streaks are part of the job. A win on days like this is protecting capital and headspace. Don’t manufacture trades to cure boredom—patience is the edge.
