Daily Log - August 21, 2025

When I got to the chart, price was in a range-like structure. There were a few opportunities early on that I missed, but nothing spectacular. My plan for the day was to be a bit more aggressive and try to get on the first setups that fit my criteria—otherwise I’ll end up like yesterday, waiting and then jumping on something mediocre.

There was a 2ES that looked nice, but the EMA didn’t hold to the downside and the signal bar closed right at the EMA, so I couldn’t take it. Stayed flat.

Later, price action moved nicely—clean structure, channels, and measured moves were easy to read—but still not many easy entries. A Failed Second Entry Short (F2ES) formed very quickly, but the bar was big. I checked my second chart for a smaller signal bar; when I flipped back, the F2ES had already triggered and took off, so there was no chance to enter.

Into the late session, price went into a really tight consolidation and moved very slowly, with not many opportunities. I stayed patient and flat.

Finally, price broke out of the small range and a small uptrend developed. It played out, and a Triple Test (TT) started forming. The issue was the uptrend had already played out; had it still been in force, this would’ve been a no-brainer. I’m not a big taker of TT setups, but given how few setups there have been lately, I probably need to widen my arsenal—carefully—under clear context.

Day ended in this small range and I didn’t see much to take.
