Daily Log - August 15, 2025

Overnight formed a downtrend that kept working lower into the start of the session. I got to the chart just before the channel broke and was looking for shorts, expecting a new low. Price eventually made the new low, but I didn’t see any setups I liked to enter.

After that, price consolidated in a range and slowed down a lot. There were signs of bullish imbalance inside the range, which made it hard to justify shorts. At the same time, there wasn’t a clear reversal or a clean uptrend early on, so there was nothing I trusted on the long side either.

The wider uptrend proved invalid; the broader range was the real dominant structure. That became even clearer after a few headline-driven spikes (seemingly tied to Trump–Putin news), and then price drifted back into the range.

There have been no trades for me this week. Looking back, there probably should have been a few, but I still have a hard time trusting mediocre setups even when the context is good—I need to work on this. The good news is price action is starting to move a bit more and not feel so slow all the time, so hopefully we’ll get some great trading weeks ahead. My context read is improving a lot; I just need that final piece: pull the trigger without hesitating and overthinking.
