Notes:
First day trading the Brooks strategy, and I was planning to trade my PA accounts. When I opened the chart, the market was already in a steady bull trend with a few small pullbacks. I read the context as Always in Long but was skeptical about the shallow H1 pullbacks and ended up missing the initial move. In hindsight, the bars were strong enough that I just needed to take the entry — the probability was high enough for at least 1R.
Later in the session, a two-legged pullback formed and gave a 2nd Entry Buy setup. The bullish signal bar didn’t trigger immediately, but in Brooks’ approach, that’s not as crucial as in Mack’s or Thomas Wade’s systems. I entered when it triggered one bar later. The setup made sense in context, but the market moved slowly with weak follow-through, so I scratched the trade for a small profit. I only took this trade on the five Tradeify eval accounts. The trade eventually worked after I was out.
After that, the market kept crawling higher before stalling into a small consolidation. It briefly looked like we might get an MTR, but bulls managed to reverse back up again. Not an easy day — the slow pace made it harder to stay focused. I had too much time to think about whether a trade would work or not, and that’s never helpful.
Biggest Lesson:
When the market moves slowly, trust the Always in direction and stay patient. Overthinking is more dangerous than a small pullback — if the setup is sound, let it play out.
