Notes:

We did get a breakout pullback, and I entered short. The market was fast-moving, so as soon as prices dropped I moved my stop to BE + 12 ticks to lock it in. I got taken out quickly, but that was fine — I wasn’t ready to sit through a strong pullback.

After that, we got a lower high forming below the range low. But this was a stupid trade. The bears had already failed twice to push prices down, so the context wasn’t great. I was too focused on yesterday’s big bear rally, and it’s important to remember that every day is its own trading day. That trade ended up being a loss, and the market quickly reversed into a strong bull rally, broke straight out of the trading range, and formed a strong bull trend.

Prices stalled for a long time at the 60-minute 20 EMA, forming a small trading range. I first thought this could be a bull flag, but we didn’t get any bull resumption. Instead, prices dropped back down and retested the bigger previous range, then moved back up again and retested the highs. Unfortunately, I didn’t see any way to enter. The overall context was confusing. In hindsight this ended up being a trading range, a bull breakout, and then a bull trend with a break and a new high — but I didn’t recognise this early on.

Prices hit last week’s low and reversed down. We got a small consolidation that could be a bear flag, and when we got a bear breakout bar I took the short. I added another contract on the follow-through bar, but prices pulled back and stalled. It was getting very late, so I closed the trade at breakeven.

Biggest Lesson:

Do not drag yesterday’s bias into the next day — everything is reset.
