Daily Log – November 14, 2025
I started late today, and when I got to the chart, there was already a strong uptrend underway. There had been a great bull breakout from a small range earlier — and I think I would have taken that if I had been at the screen. The bull trend then started showing signs of weakness, almost like a final bull flag, so I was hesitant to buy. The bears eventually managed to push down below the sideways action.

After two bearish legs down, we got a double bottom and a nice bullish bar, so I entered long expecting a test of the highs. I was buying right into the EMA, so I was prepared to add more contracts lower if needed. After I entered, prices pulled back and I did have to add one more contract. Prices stalled again at the EMA, so I exited both contracts at my original entry price — first contract at breakeven and the second with a profit of 11.75 points.

After a small pullback, another good bullish signal bar formed. I was hesitant at first, but when we got a bullish doji as the follow-through bar, I entered long again. The doji wasn’t a great signal bar, but the context was still long, and since the bears couldn’t push prices lower, I took the chance. I took the trade for only 7.75 points because I was concerned about the previous high where price had stalled earlier. Prices did slowly move higher afterward, but the momentum was so weak that I didn’t feel comfortable swinging it for a bigger target.

Biggest Lesson:

Scaling in can work, but it’s still dangerous if the context isn’t crystal clear. It’s only worth doing when the structure is strong. I’m just testing this on my evals to get a feel for the stress of having prices pull back on me and adding to a losing position. It is stressful, but it’s a valuable experience — it shows that you can sometimes recover a potential losing trade if the context supports it.
