Special Event Day:

None, Rollover Day

Notes:

I started at the market open for the first time in a long while. We had an overnight gap, and the first bar after the open was a big bear bar. After that, we got a strong bear leg down, and the gap was filled pretty quickly.

Prices continued lower, hit the previous day’s low, and then moved back up to the EMA in two legs. I was watching for a possible short entry for a retest of the lows, but there was no real setup. Instead, prices pushed back above the EMA again.

We then got a reversal back to the downside after prices hit the 50% retracement of the downtrend. I was looking for an entry to test the previous low, but the setup wasn’t great. Still, I entered on the evals on the bear breakout below the EMA. I ended up holding the trade for a long time, but prices stalled constantly and had a really hard time pushing through support. In the end, I took it off for only +3 pts. My original target was +15 pts, right at the previous low.

After a long time, the bears finally made an attempt to push to a new low, but they missed it by a few ticks. The market then tried to reverse, but it just fell back into a small trading range. At that point I decided to call it — especially since it’s rollover day.

Biggest Lesson:

Biggest Lesson
Rollover days can be slow and choppy. Today wasn’t too bad in the morning, but it really got choppy later on.
